I had been trying to get my life together before I attempted to have a deeper connection with Jesus, but that wasn't working at all. Then something quite the opposite happened. As I gradually learned how to share with Him what was going on in the depths of my heart and life, (before I got my life together) I slowly started realizing it was ok to do this. The shame I felt started disappearing as I started building a deeper relationship with Him by being transparent with Him about everything I was walking through. He didn't scold me or turn away. He drew me in closer and started healing my heart.

If you were within walking distance of a place you wanted to visit, it would be very challenging to get there if you didn't know which direction to go, what street it was on, or what landmarks to look for nearby.

This is how it can feel to want healing from sexual strongholds, if we don't know how to get there or even what it can look like.

Shame is something that has affected the majority of the women I have coached and ministered to over the years, and it is something that greatly affected my life for so many years, as well.

And guess what? It affected my life for many years before I even recognized it. It was just there. This turned into a way of thinking and seeing myself for as long as I could remember, so I didn’t see it.
