    Feb 27 2026

Paul from Connecticut is BACK to demonstrate his encyclopedic knowledge of hard rock and classic metal - it's Six More Degrees of Classic Metal! I throw bands at him from across several decades and sub-genres, and he follows their members from group to group until they link back to Whitesnake. Can he do it? Probably so for Quiet Riot or Skid Row... but what about Vixen? Limp Bizkit? TORI AMOS?!

PLUS: We're looking back at Extreme's 1995 album "Waiting for the Punchline," and Brandon's asking, "What went wrong?" (And Paul is answering: "Nothing!") • Episode 16: Interviewing Rachel Waters, indicted for her mom's murder in 2025 - why the charges were dismissed, and how she's making sure it doesn't happen to anyone else
    Feb 23 2026

This week on a special extended WNUT Talk, Brandon sits down with Rachel Waters, who was indicted in 2025 on two felony murder counts for her mother's death. The charges were dropped nearly 7 months later, leaving her with no savings left after making bond, fighting the case, losing her job, and being lost in the grief of a parent's death on top of it all.

In this interview, Rachel talks about what went wrong, why she was likely suspected, what changed the District Attorney's mind, and how she's starting a new fight to ensure this doesn't happen to someone else in the future. It's an incredible story, and I guarantee you — you've never heard anything like it.

    Feb 10 2026

This week on WNUT Talk, Brandon brings you five more songs of the least likely, most unexpected songs to ever become hits! We've got the stories behind songs like Jordy's "It's Tough to Be a Baby," Rodney Dangerfield's "Rappin' Rodney," the Crash Test Dummies' "Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm," Fresh Bush and the Invisible Man's "Hard Times," and that time Cher duetted with... Beavis and Butt-Head?

How did these songs happen? Why did we go crazy for them? And how the hell did they wind up on the charts? Brandon's telling you about the odds they defied and the heights they reached — and if you missed the first installment, just check out Episode 3 of WNUT Talk!

    Dec 30 2025

Occasionally this past year, Brandon and Carl have taken to the airwaves on WNUT's Live365 channel with exclusive segments you can't hear in any of the episodes of our flagship show. In these bite-sized segments, we've discussed everything from crazy Black Friday stories; people who ruined their lives in an instant; an ill-fated couple who were having some difficulties in the bedroom; bodycams for retail employees; and more! Special guests like Paul from Connecticut discussed what all you can get away with on New England's highways, and Captain Destructo told us a spooky tale of his brother terrorizing young campers many, many summers ago down in Georgia.

If you didn't happen to catch these segments anytime they've streamed on Live365, there was nowhere else to hear them... until now! To close out 2025, we've compiled all of those exclusive segments right here on WNUT Talk — it's basically like a bonus episode of the flagship WNUT show that we're slipping into your stocking before you put away all the holiday trimmings, so hit play and get swept away!

  • Episode 13: Six Degrees of Classic Metal - we debate when heavy metal started, build our own classic supergroups, and Paul ties any band to Whitesnake in just six members!
    Dec 23 2025

We figured we'd try something new on this episode - how about a little music chat? This week Paul from Connecticut stops by the studio to demonstrate a neat little party trick he knows how to do: Six Degrees of Classic Metal! I throw bands at him from across several decades and sub-genres, and he follows that band's members through their careers until they link back to Whitesnake. Can he do it? I bet he can with the Scorpions or Warrant... but what about Metallica? Queen?

PLUS: We're taking you back to the start of heavy metal and determining when it arrived beyond a shadow of a doubt... so the debate is over! And we're both taking a stab at building our own supergroups from the early days of hard rock and metal. Hit play and find out who gets Dio on this installment of WNUT Talk!

  • Episode 12: Hailey Hates More Things - we catch up with Hailey Hates Everything and let the hate flow through us!
    Dec 10 2025

The "Hailey Hates Everything" podcast was launched in 2021 by Hailey and Sean, who scour the earth for the most loathsome and infuriating nonsense on the planet. Then Hailey gets high and Sean guides her through the worst humanity has to offer - from music and films, to fanny packs, slang, and even butt stuff. (Hey, the weed tends to lower her filter.)

WNUT sits down with Hailey to find out the status of the show's hiatus, as well as bring her ire back to the hate-starved masses! What modern trends need to go? Should restaurants have children and no-children sections? Why is 98 Degrees performing the Offspring in concert? And why shouldn't short girls date really tall dudes? Hailey has the answers... or at least a healthy portion of rage... so hit play and let the hate flow through you!

Want to subject yourself to the same videos Hailey sent Brandon? Here they are!

  • Episode 11: Talking with grunge band Sap about music, their East Coast tour, and where to pee in New York City
    Nov 7 2025

Sap came rocking out of Austin, Texas in 2023 with grungy riffs, pummeling rhythms, and a mean, soulful howl. I sat down with the band in the middle of their East Coast "Show Some Manners" tour to talk about the group's beginnings, their influences, stories from the road, and what the future holds for the Texas trio. We lived, we laughed, we loved... we watched Evan kill most of a six-pack of Rolling Rock.

ALSO: Where does Sap stand on wearing the t-shirt of the band you're going to see? What artists are they listening to as they cross the country? What movies and books keep them sane on the road? What's their advice to musicians looking to start a band? And just where DO you find a bathroom in New York City? Hit play and let's find out together on this episode of WNUT Talk!

  • WNUT Talk, Episode 10: Black Sabbath and Their Parade of Singers - How Many Have They Had, and How Many Actually Made It onto an Album?
    Sep 8 2025

Break out your history books - we're going Back to the Beginning (get it?) with Black Sabbath! On this episode, Brandon's taking a head count of EVERY. SINGLE. lead singer who ever sang with Black Sabbath, as well as the story of why there was an opening and how they came to join the legendary group. Everyone knows Ozzy... many people know Dio... and most everyone else would miss the trivia question: "Name three lead singers for the band Black Sabbath." Today we're making sure you won't be one of those people!

Plus: What lesser-known Sabbath albums should you absolutely check out? Is it true that there was a lead singer hired between Ozzy and... Ozzy? (Why, yes - twice, actually!) And does Jeff Fenholt even qualify as a Black Sabbath singer? Strap in, because we're going through changes (get it?) on WNUT Talk!
