  • HS Football - Orrville at Shelby - Week 12 - November 7, 2025 (Regional Quarterfinal)

    The Shelby Whippets defeated the Orrville Red Riders, 42-0, on Friday in the Division IV Regional quarterfinal at the Whippet Athletic Complex. Shelby, after a bye week, had a slow start in the 1st quarter leading 3-0, but racked up 27 points in the 2nd quarter in route to the win. Brady Bowman led Shelby with 3 touchdown catches and 145 yard receiving. Brayden DeVito threw 4 TD passes, the other to tight end Michael Shepherd. DeVito moved into 4th place all time in Ohio high school football in passing yards with over 12,201. Brayden threw for 283 yards and his 4 TDs put him now in 14th place all-time in Ohio history for passing touchdowns. DeVito now has 190 career TDs. Travis Sloan ran for a 30 yard TD and the Whippets special teams blocked a punt and scored a touchdown. Griffin Yeager flew in to make the block, while freshman Luke Blevins grab the football for a TD in the 2nd half. #1 Shelby (11-0) will host #4 Lima Bath (9-2) on Friday night, November 14th, in the Division IV Regional Semi-Finals at the Whippet Athletic Complex. *Former Shelby QB Brennan Armstrong dropped into the broadcast booth with Aaron Hines and Erik Will during the 2nd quarter*

  • High School Football - Week 11 - Orrville at Clear Fork - 1st Round Playoff Game - October 31st, 2025

    The Clear Fork Colts season came to an end on Friday, as their comeback fell short in the 4th quarter in a 35-28 first round playoff game at the Colt Corral on Halloween. The Colts (6-5) jumped out first with a 2 yard TD run by Alex Schlosser to go up 7-0 in the 1st quarter. But, Orrville would score 3 straight times to take a 21-7 lead into halftime. The Red Riders got a 3 yard TD run from Parker Hostetler and QB Cam Craft threw 2 touchdown passes to 6'5 wide receiver, Braylon McDuffie. The final score came with :22 seconds per the half. Orrville scored on a touchdown run by Hostetler to start the 3rd quarter to go ahead 28-7. The Colts would answer as Porter Schmidt had a touchdown just over halfway through the 3rd quarter. The Red Riders would score again with just over 10 minutes left in the game and led 35-14 early in the 4th quarter. However, Clear Fork would rally and score two times on a Marcus Hoeflich pass to Nash Evans and a TD run by Ben Campbell. The Colts got the ball back and had a chance to tie the game, but a sack by Orrville helped them turn Clear Fork over on downs and the Red Riders held on for the win. Cam Craft accounted for 4 TDs ( 2 rushing and 2 passing) in the win. Orrville (7-4) now plays at Shelby (10-0) on Friday, Nov. 7th in the Regional quarterfinals.

  • High School Football - Week 10 - Ashland at Lexington - October 24th, 2025

    The Lexington Minutemen (9-1, 6-0 ) won the outright Ohio Cardinal Conference Championship on Friday with a thrilling 43-35 win at home over the Ashland Arrows (9-1, 5-1). It's the first league crown for Lex since 2016 and was the first loss of the year for Ashland, who was going to back-to-back league championships. Lexington got an amazing performance from Seven Allen, who had 3 TDs - a 25-yard TD run, 60 yard interception returned for a score and a 94 yard TD catch. Minutemen QB Joe Caudill ran for 3 scores too, as he found the endzone on a 3 yard run in the 1st half, but had two incredible runs down the sideline of 48 yards and 63 yards to fuel Lex to their 8th straight win to end the regular season. Ashland QB Nathan Bernhard ran for two scores and threw 3 TD passes, two to Gabe Baith and the other to Dakota Kruty in the loss. Next up: the playoffs for both teams, as the await the OHSAA to released the final computer points on Sunday.

  • HS Football - Lexington at Madison - Week 9 - October 17, 2025

    The Lexington Minutemen won their 7th straight game on Friday, 49-17, at Madison. Lex racked up close to 470 yards of total offense, 325 rushing from Markale Martin (107 yards, Joe Caudill 101 yards) to improve to 8-1 and remain unbeaten in the Ohio Cardinal Conference at 5-0. Caudill threw two TDs, a 59 yard pass to Seven Allen, who had close to 100 yards receiving and ran for a 14 yard TD and a 3 yard pass to Cole Eichorn. Martin and Brayden Fogle also ran for touchdowns for Lexington, who is averaging over 46 points per game in their win streak. Madison's Camden Moysi caught a TD from Colton Adkins, and Moysi booted a 48 yard field goal, which would have been good from 50 yards! Kaleb Gordon found the endzone for the Rams (2-7, 1-4) on a 14 yard run. This now sets up a winner take all OCC Championship game on Friday, October 24th, as Lexington (8-1, 5-0) hosts Ashland (9-0, 5-0). You can hear the game on WMAN.

  • High School Football - Week 8 - Shelby at Ontario - October 10th, 2025

    The Shelby Whippets improved to 8-0 on Friday and QB Brayden DeVito continues to put up historic numbers. DeVito accounted for 5 TDs in the Whippets, 42-0, win at Ontario to remain in 1st place in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference at 4-0. Brayden DeVito became the schools all-time career rushing touchdowns leader, passing Brennan Armstrong, with now 67 rushing TDs. DeVito also passed Joe Burrow and now is 6th all-time in Ohio High School Football history with over 11,500 yards passing. Brayden has over 14,000 all purpose yards in his career. DeVito threw 3 TD passes to 3 different receivers, Brady Bowman 37 yards, 7 yards to Avery Lambert and a 42 yard strike to Caseyn Koch. Brayden had TD runs of 4 yards and 1 yards to give him 38 TDs on the year.   • HS Football - Week 7 - Clear Fork at Shelby - October 3rd, 2025

    The Shelby Whippets offense racked up nearly 470 yards of offense and Shelby's defense scored twice in the Whippets impressive win, 52-14, on homecoming vs Clear Fork. Brayden DeVito accounted for 5 TDs, two rushing on long runs of 78 yards and 51 yards, while he threw 3 TD passes to Brady Bowman. Bowman had a 60 yard pick six on defense and hauled in 3 TD passes from DeVito, one of which he fumbled and scooped it up on the fly - going for a 65 yard score. Sam Gwirtz had the other defensive TD for Shelby, as the linebacker picked up a fumble, caused by defensive end Carter Kessler, and rolled 65 yards to the endzone. Clear Fork scored in 1st quarter on 7 yard run by QB Marcus Hoeflich and he had another great play, making two spin moves, on a 27 yard TD run in the 4th. The win for Shelby (7-0,4-0) is their 20th straight regular season win, 20th consecutive game of scoring 20 points or more and the Whippets 5th game in a row scoring 40 points or more. Friday was Shelby's 2nd time scoring 50+ points. The win puts Shelby all alone in 1st place in the MOAC. The loss snaps Clear Fork's (5-2) three game win streak and hands the Colts their 1st loss in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference. *The game was broadcast live on WMAN with Aaron Hines and Erik Will

  • High School Football - Week 6 - Mansfield Senior at Lexington - September 26th, 2025

    The Lexington Minutemen won their 4th game in a row on Friday, as the beat OCC rival Mansfield Senior, 48-6, on homecoming in Lexington. The Minutemen led 14-0 after the 1st quarter on TD passes by QB Joe Caudill to Brayden Fogle and Seven Allen. Lex increased the lead to 41-0 at halftime behind 2 TD runs from Markale Martin ( 7 yard and 22 yard runs), a 24 yard pick 6 on defense by Fogle and Cohen Boozer recovered a fumble in the endzone. Martin found the end zone for the 3rd time in the 3rd quarter to give Lex their 1st win at home over Mansfield Senior since 2011. The victory for the Minutemen is their 4th in a row, where they have piled up a combined 191 points. Lex, now 5-1 and 2-0 in the OCC, has a huge league game on Friday at West Holmes (5-1, 3-0). Mansfield Senior got a 36 yard TD pass in the 4th quarter from QB Sean Tanner to DJ Corbin.   • High School Football Week 5 - Galion at Ontario - September 19th, 2025

    The Galion Tigers defense on Friday night was incredible in a 7-0 road win at Ontario. It was Galion's 2nd shutout of the year, as the Tiger defense made it difficult for the Warriors to move the ball down the field. Galion played great team defense, led by linebacker's Cameron Kuehlman, Trey Longwell and Zach Sallee on the defensive line. The game's only score happened at the 11:23 mark of the 2nd quarter on a 5 yard TD run by senior Sam Evans. Ontario's defense was really good as well, holding a high powered Galion offense (avg 38 pts) to a single score. The Warrior defense had 3 takeaways, including two INTs from defensive back, Brady Rowe. Galion is now 4-1 and 1-1 in the MOAC, while Ontario falls to 2-3 and 0-2 in the league.
