  • Digital Chains: Is YOUR Liberty Being Redefined?
    Sep 21 2025
What if your digital footprint becomes a cage? The lines of personal freedom are blurring as technology, government, and social media platforms silently, or lately not-so-silently, infringe on our individual liberties. How much freedom are we willing to sacrifice for safety? How can we maintain any semblance of privacy? Will speaking your mind get you imprisoned or killed? Listen to hear how to protect yourself…as much as you can, anyway.

    Definitions for Things I Mentioned:

Local Media Playback: Playing media that is already stored locally. USB Drive Playback: Some Roku, Fire TV, and Apple TV models (or accessories) have a USB port or an adapter option. You can load movies, music, or photos onto a USB flash drive or external hard drive and play them directly through a Media Player app on the device. No internet is needed because the media files are physically plugged into the device.

Local Network Streaming (No Internet Required): You can stream content from another device on your local Wi-Fi network even if that network is not connected to the internet. Screen Mirroring/Casting: You can use your phone, tablet, or laptop to mirror its screen or cast a downloaded video to the streaming stick. Technologies like AirPlay (for Apple TV) or Wi-Fi Direct/Miracast (for Roku/Fire Stick) establish a direct connection between your phone and the stick using your Wi-Fi router as a bridge, but without routing traffic out to the web. Local Media Server (Plex/Kodi): If you have a computer or hard drive running a local media server (like Plex or Kodi) on your Wi-Fi network, the streaming stick can connect to that server and stream the files it hosts, as long as both devices are on the same local network.

  • How To Prep Discreetly While Building Community
    Aug 31 2025

The visuals of preppers often show lone individuals or single families. Many preppers feel that the more people who know about your preps, the more you make yourself a target during an emergency. Can you prep discreetly while building community among like-minded people who see the value in preparedness? Listen to find out.

If you need a prepping mindset refresher, check out one of my first articles, “Prepping 101: A Practical Preparedness Start for Single Women” here.

This article of mine expands on my previous post about creating a supportive group of women.

Read my previous article, “The Power of Community: How to Face Challenges Collectively” specifically about preparing with your community here

CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) is a FEMA-derived program that educates volunteers on disaster preparedness for potential events in their community. Learn more about the CERT program here.
