Yes, we're back with our good friend Columbo, who is this time up against John Cassavetes as Alex Benedict, an arrogant orchestra conductor that murders his mistress. We discuss the first appearance of the bestest little guy Dog, the wise-beyond-her-years neighbor girl Audrey, and of course, the (technically) first time Gwyneth Paltrow is on film. Yes, we talk about Goop. Also, we make an announcement at the end: Dessy will be stepping back from the podcast for a bit due to scheduling and personal reasons, but don't worry! Anytime things line up, we'll have them back on (they just won't be a regular for the time being). Whenever a new AA game comes out though, we'll be sure to reunite the full cast, so... Capcom? You're on notice!

Join us as Ben, Dessy, Tiago, and Rose cover the inspirations behind Ace Attorney! Except, this time it's something inspired by the inspirations we've covered so far! Wake Up Dead Man is the latest Benoit Blanc mystery film from Rian Johnson, of Knives Out fame. This time going for a dark, gothic mystery bathed in religion, Blanc assists Father Jud who's (of course) been accused of murder. A big, stellar cast, excellent cinematography, and plenty of humor keep us entertained this time around, although we do have a few critiques as well! We dive into just how Catholic this movie is, the excellent performances from Josh O'Connor and Daniel Craig, and we even have our usual diversions to talk about another movie or two. Join us, won't you?
