  • Episode 101: Amazing Life & Tragedy of Amelia Earhart
    Aug 18 2025

In this episode of Unexplained America, your host Lisa will discuss the life, achievements, and then the mysterious disappearance of Amelia Earhart.

On July 2, 1937, world renowned lady aviator Amelia Earhart and her navigator Fred Noonan were in communications with the US Coast Guard ship the Itasca. The Itasca was anchored right close to Howland Island in the Pacific Ocean awaiting the arrival of Amelia and Fred who were on their last legs of their famous flight around the world.

Amelia was the first women to fly across the Atlantic but she wished to be the first woman to fly around the world and not just around but at the earths longest distance--along the equator.

In the episode, I will discuss Amelia's birth in Atchison, Kansas, and then her schooling, her career and what led to her being one of the most famous women of all times.

  • Episode 100: Amityville: The Lutz Family Hauntings
    Jul 28 2025

In this episode of Unexplained America, your host Lisa will discuss the Amityville case but this episode is specifically starting at the time George and Kathy Lutz move their family into 112 Ocean Ave, Amityville, New York.

On December 18, 1975, the Lutz family move into their new home. Right away the Lutz experience phenomenon that they cannot explain. They only live in the home for 28 days but their experience in the home will be made infamous in 1977, with the writing of a best selling novel labeled as non-fiction.

Following the book, The Amityville Horror, then comes a feature film by the same name released in 1979, starring James Brolin and Margot Kidder.

George and Kathy Lutz, although, they only lived in the home for 28 days, that 28 days will shape their lives and the lives of their children for the rest of their collective lives.

I will discuss the happenings in the 28 days, the Lutz background, the famous book and film, and then the happenings afterwards to the current day. I will also discuss Ed and Lorraine Warrens involvement as well.

And this is my 100th episode--I am so happy and proud and appreciative to all the listeners who have made this possible through their encouragement.

Warning--listener discretion--the episode contains the description of children being killed and their injuries.

    Listen to hear full details.

  • Episode 99: Amityville: The Defeo Family Murders
    Jul 21 2025

In this episode of Unexplained America, your host Lisa will discuss the Amityville case but this episode is specifically covering the Defeo Family Murders.

On November 13, 1974, Ronald Defeo Jr. (Ronnie) ran into a local bar close to his home in Amityville, New York, and screamed "someone has shot my mom and dad".

Police would find 6 members of the Defeo Family shot and dead in the beds wearing pajamas on the night of the 13th of November. The only surviving Defeo being Ronnie, who would go on to imply the Mafia was responsible...at least, initially.

After further questioning, Ronnie would alter his story numerous times until he would admit to killing his own family his self.

We will discuss the back story of the Defeo family, the night of the 13th of November, the investigation, the trial and the aftermath; again specific to the Defeo Family.

In episode 100, I will have an episode that will begin in Amityville in December 1975.

Warning--listener discretion--the episode contains the description of children being killed and their injuries.

    Listen to hear full details.

looking at the other reviews they say too much banter. I kinda like that myself. It's a new pod and I'm sure they will just get better and better and listen to some of yalls critiques. I think they are growing just fine and it will just get better as they go. Here's to you ladies. Look forward to yall every week.

You can feel the friendship between the two and that they are trying their best to make a great podcast.

I'd give 5 stars if the banter was significantly reduced. One episode had nearly 20 minutes of side conversation before getting to the story. The Enola and aunt caroline episodes were top notch, though.

The content is fantastic

Good stories but calm down and get to it. Your stories could be greatly tightened up.
