This sets up the basis for having a philosophical discussion by talking about the laws of logic and what logical fallacies are. In order to have a productive discussion about anything, you have to agree on reality, absolute truth, and logic. Otherwise you end up feeling like you've been in a conversation with a chicken trying to play chess while explaining square circles.

It just doesn't work without truth, logic, and reality.

I love philosophy, science, and history and it is very interesting to me that the Bible has been proven to hold true regarding science, history, and the human experience; yet when it comes to the supernatural, people question it.

When I respect someone for speaking the truth consistently, being intellectually honest, holding a high moral code, and being accurate on every topic discussed, then I tend to believe them or at least respect their opinion when they speak on a different topic. People don't do that with the topic of God and the Bible, they instead choose to dismiss it out of hand.
