We often hear teachers of young children say "But the parents want....". We need to let parents know what is best for children in early education settings. Do the parents know about all of the training that you do? Do you try and tell parents how to do their jobs?? We want to work with families and educate them on best practices and how not to PUSH their child to do academic things that they may not be ready for... yet.

Do you often see things on social media that drive you crazy because it isn't developmentally appropriate for young children? There are times when adults ask questions rather than making a statement when speaking to children. As the adult, we want children to feel safe and feel like the adult is in control of the situation. If the adult asks questions when there needs to be a statement made, a child may come off as being disagreeable when really they are just answering a question! "Okay?"

Many adults think that it is easier to run out on a child at drop off. It is best to set up a routine and say goodbye. This podcast is about why it is important for adults to say goodbye and some ideas to help with the transition.
