Thank you for your audience. Please share and help me grow the channel. The True Psychiatry Podcast is dedicated to reducing the excesses of the field and to bringing psychology back to everyday practice, goals that will ultimately benefit both providers’ and patient’s quality of life.

In this episode I interviewed Dr. Haim Belmaker and Dr. Pesach Lichtemberg about their new book “Psychopharmacology Reconsidered”.

I believe this book is the most important psychopharm publication of our era and heralds the upcoming changes in our field, changes that should restore psychiatry as a respected and humanistic branch of medicine.

The contrast between “Psychopharmacology Reconsidered” and the other psychopharm books you have read will help you distinguish between science and advertisement while providing you with clear guidance to treat psychiatric presentations.

  • PHQ9 and GAD7 are HOLDING US BACK (plus, sorry for disappearing)
    Feb 11 2024

    Send us a text

First of all I would like to apologize for the long silence. You are kind enough to subscribe to my channel and entertain the questions I raise about the field and I need you to know that I don’t take your following lightly, especially in a field dominated by reductionism.

In this episode I explain the reason for my silence: the creation of the TRUE PSYCHIATRY NETWORK, an online psychiatric clinic, and the efforts to establish its format and slow recruitment and selection for the right brains for the tasks.

After that I make a case of why simplistic tools like PHQ9 and GAD7 are detrimental to the practice of a true psychiatry.

Hope you enjoy those thoughts. Feel free to give me feedback at INFO@NEPMI.ORG
