In June 2015, Dee Dee Blanchard was found brutally murdered in her home in Springfield, Missouri. She had been stabbed to death. The investigation into her death revealed a shocking and disturbing truth - Dee Dee had been keeping her daughter, Gypsy Rose Blanchard, captive and pretending she was sick for years.

Gypsy Rose had been forced to use a wheelchair and undergo unnecessary medical treatments for conditions she didn't actually have. It was a case of Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a form of child abuse where a caregiver fabricates or induces illness in a child to gain attention and sympathy.

But who was responsible for Dee Dee's death? It didn't take long for police to arrest Gypsy Rose and her boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn. The couple had planned the murder together and Godejohn had carried it out.

The trial of Nicholas Godejohn was a highly publicized and emotional event. The prosecution argued that Godejohn had acted with premeditation and had a history of violence. The defense, on the other hand, argued that Godejohn had a history of mental illness and was coerced by Gypsy Rose into committing the murder.

Listen to all the raw testinmony from the trial, proseccution and defence arguements, and the verdict.Copyright Full Trial Audio
