Discussion: Fish oils are heavily promoted for anti inflammatory properties. And yet, very little research has been done on oxidized and other metabolites which can be inflammatory. Youri Kruse writes that these unsaturated fats are just as dangerous as the plant based PUFAs. Fish oils deplete progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, pregnenolone and dihydrotestosterone. Estrogen is enhanced. Fish oils compromise thyroid activity by depleting selenium. Vitamin E is depleted by fish oils. Youri also remarks that avoiding the plant based seed oils is more anti inflammatory than adding fish oils.
