    Creatives' Pier - August '25

In this episode, Scott is joined by returner/co-host Jarrett Moses and first time guest Jon Bolds to talk about our Creatives’ Pier Open Mic hosted at Venice Island Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, August 12th. Jon Bolds was the closing feature for the event.

The episode opens with quite a bit of backstory concerning Jon’s connection to Scott and Jarrett including a number of performances on the platform of Creatives’ Philly over the years. From there Scott, Jarrett, and Jon dive into the event on August 12th focusing first on the team who served and then on the open mic performers that led up to the closing feature.

Towards the end of the episode the crew celebrates Jon’s featured performance set. Scott shares about the impact it had on him as someone who has watched Jon’s story unfold over the course of nearly 15 years. As the episode wraps up the conversation turns a bit more sentimental as all three talk about the value of their individual friendships and how they have been a blessing to each other. We hope you enjoy today’s episode.

The first quarter of the episode explains the backstory of DTL from Trish’s vantage point as the founder and curator. AVG chimes in with some of the experience he’s had while attending DTL over the years. Scott also adds in his perspective which leads to a conversation about how Trish chooses her lineups.

From there the trio dives into the day of the event on August 10th, 2025. The conversation ebbs and flows as they each take time to discuss the more than dozen poets who performed. Scott’s performance on the lineup is one of the focal points of this section.
