Scripture clearly teaches that history is moving toward a divinely appointed conclusion. The Bible repeatedly warns that time, as we know it, is limited, and that God has set boundaries on human history, opportunity, and probation. God Has Appointed an End to Time and History
Ecclesiastes 3:1 (KJV)

Time is not random or endless. God governs it, and every season has an endpoint.
Acts 17:30–31 (KJV)
“And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained…”
A fixed, appointed day of judgment confirms that time is moving toward closure.
