TikTok & teens: The dangerous trends targeting Sydney's youth [SYD]

Trends and challenges on TikTok can be a lot of fun... But they can also be pretty dangerous, and promote illegal behaviour - especially for our youth who crave the approval of their peers and can be prone to taking risks.

And this is happening - recent viral trends encouraging people to steal cars, explore abandoned buildings or start fires using deodorant cans have been suggested as increasing crime rates.

So who should be held responsible when teenagers are swept up in dangerous trends - should there be more regulation? And what can we do to help prevent these trends from becoming trends in the first place?
