  • Good in hardships
    Jan 13 2026
Now friends, I do not know what your circumstances are right now, but I do know, judging from the letters we get, there are some of you in a hard place. As one man said to me, “I’m between a rock and a hard place.” And things look dark. You don’t see the way out. And you really wonder whether God cares. Well, the reason God’s given us this story of Joseph is He wants you to know that He cares and that He’s moving in your life. And if you’re His child, and He’s not judging you for some particular sin you committed, He’s permitting this to happen to you for your good. And even if He’s judging you, it’s going to be for your good. You can’t miss. How wonderful our God is.

  • Stand for truth
    Jan 12 2026
God have mercy today on Christians that shape their lives by those that are around them and are constantly looking for the effect their conduct is going to have on others. And they don’t look on whether this is the right thing or the Christian thing or, as a child of God, is this something I should do or not do. And that’s the reason our churches are filled today with those who compromise, and little wonder that today we have so many frustrated, unhappy Christians. I tell you it’s a wonderful thing to stand for the truth today. And when you stand for it, you don’t have to compromise. My, how wonderful it is when we’ll do that.

  • Expect slow growth
    Jan 9 2026
Don’t expect that as a Christian that you’re going to become full grown overnight. Now God adopts you into the family as a full-grown son, where you’re able to understand divine truth because the Holy Spirit is your teacher. But your growth and my growth is slow. We may learn truths in the Bible, but we will find that in our lives that you and I go through very much like Simon Peter, stumbling here and falling down there. Thank God, Simon Peter kept getting up and brushing himself off, and there came the day when he had a very close walk with the Lord. But you and I need to recognize that in our own life, the growth is slow.

  • We have to yield
    Jan 8 2026
“The sun rose upon him, and he halted upon his thigh.” God broke his leg, but He got him. And you’re going to find out from here on, he’s going to manifest a spiritual nature, dependence upon God. Another young man in the New Testament, a son of Jacob by the name of Saul of Tarsus, he tells us that he couldn’t win, and finally he found out by yielding and letting the Spirit of God: what the law could not do, the Spirit now is able to do in your life. And that’s exactly what Jacob did. Jacob won—he got the victory not by fighting and struggling, but by yielding, and that’s the only way you and I will get anywhere with God today.

  • The bondage of love
    Jan 7 2026
And Jacob turns around and says, “If you’ll do this ….” He wants to trade with God. And he says, “If you’ll do it, then I’ll serve you.” God doesn’t do business with us that way. You don’t trade with God. A great many people even today say, “Now I’ll serve the Lord if He’ll do ….” He won’t do anything of the kind, friends. He doesn’t do business that way. He’ll extend mercy to you. He’ll be gracious to you. But He doesn’t ask anything in return. But He does say this: That if you love Him that you’ll really want to serve Him. And that will be the bondage of love. The same kind of love a mother has for the little child and she becomes its slave. That’s the way that He wants you, and that’s the way He wants me.

  • God speaks to us through Jesus
    Jan 6 2026
“Behold I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.” God says, “I’m going to be with you, Jacob. And I’m going to bring you back into this land.” But the vision that He gave him in that dream was of a ladder that reached up to heaven. Well, that ladder is Christ. And God, from the top of the ladder in heaven—a voice out of heaven said, “This is My beloved Son in whom I’m well pleased.” And God is speaking to man through Christ today. You can’t come to God directly. We have access through Christ; through the grace that we have in Christ.

  • God wants to bless us
    Jan 5 2026
“Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him.” God’s with him, you see, and that is the blessing that God promised to these people from the day He called Abraham. It was an earthly blessing. Well, later on when He put them in that land, He says, “I’ll bless you in your basket.” And God made that good when they were walking in fellowship with Him. Now He’s not promised us that; He’s promised us spiritual blessings. We’re told we are blessed with all spiritual blessings, and that is our portion today. And on the same terms, if you’ll walk with God, He wants to bless you abundantly spiritually.

  • The mark of a Christian
    Jan 2 2026
“He sold his birthright unto Jacob. And Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentils; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.” That’s the important thing to see at this juncture. This man just sits down, eats a bowl of soup. And for that bowl of soup, he surrendered his birthright. It had no spiritual value to him whatsoever because nothing that was spiritual meant anything to him. Unfortunately, I’m afraid we have church members that are like that; who have no spiritual capacity whatsoever. And that I think is the mark of a Christian today is that one that the Spirit of God can teach and lead and guide.
