    How does Heilkunst Define Health? - S1E2

    We’re all at great risk - if we don’t make a deliberate effort - to default to the allopathic definition of health in our thinking. This is a negative definition, which means that health gets the very poor definition of “an absence of symptoms”. Likewise, all treatment modalities are judged on whether or not they simply “got rid of a symptom” - and the quicker the better. What is the definition of health? In its fullest sense, it includes much more than a “symptom-free” status…it implies growth and development, and ultimately an “evolution of consciousness” at its core. There are objective milestones along the human progression to health which are key to this definition. Rather than “getting rid” of a symptom or an illness, the higher goal is to fully “go through” it, in a process of transformation. Like any relationship in life, we should grow and change as a result. A student working through their schooling, by analogy, should gain an actual education, and not a mere certificate to be framed. The “negative” definition of health represents a new form of ‘illiteracy’, and we know from the dire statistics of modern medicine that it now pervades our modern healthcare consciousness.
