Therefore - Matthew 21:33-46

It’s the Tuesday before the Friday Jesus would be crucified and in Matthew 21, Jesus is in Jerusalem in the Jewish temple and he’s going to tell a story about some wicked farmers who had been entrusted with a landowner’s vineyard. This parable has something to say to the religious leaders of the Jewish people, the future of God’s people, and also to us today. In vs. 43 we’re told the “kingdom of God will be taken away from the Pharisees and given to a people producing its fruits.” What does that mean? 1. Their time as leaders of God’s people was coming to an end. 2. God’s kingdom would be given to another people who would be faithful and fruitful.
