The government should leave the internet alone

Two troubling pieces of legislation are set to become law, and could have drastic implications for how Canadians access the internet. Bills C-11 and C-18 would give the government unprecedented powers to regulate what type of content Canadians are able to view online and stifle free speech. The government claims that more regulation of the internet is needed in order to combat hate speech and protect vulnerable groups. It’s time for a reality check.
