Trauma Bonding isn’t the same as Bonding over Trauma!!!

Trauma bonding and bonding over trauma are not interchangeable. One describes a specific psychological attachment pattern; the other describes shared experience. The difference matters, and the term “trauma bond” is frequently used out of context throughout all of these episodes. When people use “trauma bond” to mean “we bonded over trauma,” they’re flattening a term that actually describes a pretty serious attachment pattern.
