The Wonderful Wizard of Oz Chapter 8 - The Deadly Poppy Field

In which Dorothy and her companions, having nearly lost their Scarecrow friend to the river’s treacherous currents, are aided by a helpful Stork and continue their journey through a beguiling but dangerous poppy field. The enchanting beauty of the blossoms soon gives way to a perilous slumber, compelling the Tin Woodman and Scarecrow to carry the sleeping girl to safety while their brave friend succumbs to the flowers’ spell.
