  • How to rediscover your creativity, with Heather Moore
    May 26 2025

Welcome to the first episode of Series 2 with linocut artist, Heather Moore (@thepeacockandtheprintmaker on Instagram)

Heather Moore initially began creating linocuts as a form of therapy, but her passion for the process grew so strong that she decided to pursue it professionally. She left her teaching career to establish her own art business as a self-employed artist in 2022. Inspired by nature, memories, and the wonders of the world, Heather produces vibrant artworks designed to lift your mood and provide space for reminiscence and dreaming. Her recent work celebrates the dynamic waves of the North East coastline, as well as family trips through forests and around lakes. Deeply intrigued by how colour influences mood, Heather creates images that blend observation with imagination, playing with colour manipulation to evoke emotion. Her artistic process involves combining uplifting colours with textures and lines derived from her sketches, layered through multiple stages of lino reduction print - each piece uniquely created and impossible to reproduce exactly again.

    Key discussion points:

    • Rediscovering creativity through printmaking and the art of printmaking techniques
    • The importance of investing in creative community spaces
    • Balancing creativity with our other commitments
    • The role of creativity in schools and access to Arts education
