First published in 1893, The Wilderness Hunter is a deeper look into a natural world of change. In this section, Roosevelt introduces us to his experience of the wonders of nature found in the United States. He then moves on to give a brief description of his time as a cowboy and the Mule deer hunts he went on in the west.
