  • Bonus: Gen V: Three Episode Reaction
    Oct 5 2023
Gen V has officially started. With all of the first three episodes coming out at once, there was a lot for us for absorbed. What was there to like? EVERYTHING! What could go wrong? It already has! What was there anything to not like? Probably (spoiler) getting cutoff after the first episode . . . or did they?

  • Bonus: Gen V Predictions (Before Reaction)
    Oct 4 2023
At the time of this episode's recording, we express our excitement for Gen V's three episode premiere by trying (and probably failing) to predict what could happen in the messy (and occasionally bloody) world that is The Boys in the even more messed up setting that is college. Not to mention, making sense of the cast (Clancy Brown, Jason Ritter) and what roles they may or may not play.

  • 34: All Fun and Games . . . Right?
    Sep 30 2023
From video games to board games like D&D, and their surprisingly good adaptations (The Last of Us, The Super Mario Bros movie, D&D: Honor Among Thieves, HarmonQuest, etc.), it should go without saying (unless you're doing a podcast), that people are taking games of all kinds more seriously outside of just playing them. We all know about Game Stop vs Wall Street, right? Not to mention the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy's movie, Among Us AND Dead Cells animated series, the Minecraft movie, AND the recent Meta announcements . . . is there anything we won't cover?

  • 33: Seeing More of the Sea
    Sep 26 2023
As we've seen in Aquaman, Avatar: The Way of Water, One Piece (both adaptations), Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and more (that we might've missed) there's been a gradual trend of water playing bigger roles than just something to drink or swim in. From featuring hidden cultures and its people to representing something some deep meaning (no pun intended). Now why is that? And will we be seeing more of it after Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom? That remains to be seen as we pick our brains over all of that and more (that we might've missed).

  • 31: The Superhero Genre Turned On It's Head Part 2
    Sep 8 2023
Picking up where they left off with discussing Gen V and season four of The Boys from the last episode, Cedric and Griffin get right back into it over how superheroes have and are still changing for the better. And then there's Griffin's questionable theory concerning a character archetype known as "The Not-Hero." Then again, given the track records of characters from DreamWorks, Netflix Marvel, CW DC, as well as the anime Cedric's recently grown interest in and his surprisingly positive reaction towards Netflix's live-action adaption of One Piece, there probably couldn't be a better term to describe the likes of Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece), Shrek (RIP Steve Harwell), Billy Butcher (The Boys), Loki, Yuji Itadori (Jujutsu Kaisen) and the many more we discuss in this longer than usual episode.

  • 30. Blue Beetle, Invincible, and Peacemaker
    Sep 3 2023
The future of superhero properties. Where will they go next and how far? With soon-to-be timeless icons like Jaime Reyes and Mark Greyson (and the other one) making their stand, in spite of all the brutality they face, it really seem like heroes are legitimately coming in all shapes and sizes. Not to mention with Gen V around the corner along with season four of The Boys, it's a no-brainer that Cedric and Griffin will express their excitement for the current and continuing improvements with superhero properties.

  • 29. The Whale and Oppenheimer (So . . . Whalenhiemer?)
    Aug 14 2023
After being blown away not once but TWICE, Cedric and Griffin have a lot on their plates after finally getting around to The Whale and seeing Oppenheimer, not only on the big screen, but in IMAX 70mm. From the casts to crew, the scripts to the music . . . needless to say, they've really gone to town on one of their longest episodes yet.
