In this episode, we sit down with Navjot Sawhney, founder of The Washing Machine Project, a global social enterprise solving a problem that affects over 50% of the world’s population.

Navjot began his journey as an aerospace engineer at Dyson before transitioning into humanitarian innovation and social entrepreneurship. His mission started in South India, where he met a woman named Divya who spent up to 20 hours every week washing clothes by hand, highlighting a massive yet overlooked global challenge.

This insight led to the creation of an innovative, manual, off-grid washing machine designed for low-income communities without reliable access to electricity or running water. Today, The Washing Machine Project has impacted over 100,000 lives across 15 countries, partnering with NGOs, governments, and global organizations to scale sustainable solutions.

In this episode, we discuss social entrepreneurship, startup innovation, building a purpose-driven business, and the balance between profit and impact. Navjot also shares insights on product design, scaling a global startup, and creating meaningful change through innovation.
