Bethany Kimsey welcomes you for a quick cup of coffee, some laughs and maybe a few tears as we talk about the realities of motherhood. As a mother of 8 children ranging in age from 5-21, Bethany has learned the freedom of applying gospel truths to the daily details with children. Together we will learn how to take spiritual truths into the micro and macro moments of motherhood. How do we make this fuzzy intersection of real life mothering and the gospel clearly defined for vision and confidence? Connection happens when we meet together in the real spaces-- the kitchen tables of life-- sharing stories of hope, truth, and grace. When God breaks through everything changes about our motherhood, and we can walk with confidence and purpose.2024 Crianza y Familias Cristianismo Espiritualidad Ministerio y Evangelismo Relaciones

  • 403. Learning to Delight in God Through Hard Seasons of Motherhood
    Oct 1 2025

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Bethany understands how heavy and messy certain seasons of motherhood can feel. Maybe you’re in one right now, feeling worn down, unsure, or even questioning if you like being a mom at all. You’re not the only one, and you’re not alone. Motherhood can feel overwhelming, but there is work God is doing in you, even when it doesn’t feel like it.

In this episode, Bethany shares her own experience walking through seasons she hasn’t always loved and the honest emotions that come with them. She encourages you to return to the Lord, asking how you can delight in him even in the midst of mess and doubt. She gently reminds us that softening our hearts, leaning into God’s care, and trusting his guidance can make even the hardest seasons feel manageable.

There’s hope here for every mom who feels defeated or unsure. Bethany’s words are an invitation to pause, connect with God, and see his presence in your life, right where you are.

  • 402. Parenting Without Performance and Trusting God’s Plan
    Sep 24 2025

Welcome back to The Kitchen Table with Bethany. Bethany reflects on the struggles of motherhood, including the fear, anxiety, and pressure that come from focusing too much on outcomes. She shares how she realized that comparing herself and her children to others kept her trapped in a cycle of performance instead of connection.

Bethany shares a word picture God placed in her life: she had hoped for Bradford pear trees but ended up with an oak shrub instead. Initially frustrated, she came to see that God was teaching her an important lesson. Just as an oak takes time to grow, children also develop according to God’s timing. Parenting isn’t about controlling the outcome or performing perfectly—it’s about creating the right environment, supporting growth, and trusting God’s plan for each child.

Bethany reflects on the freedom that comes when parents release comparison and fear and focus on the process rather than performance. She encourages parents to stop measuring themselves against others, trust God’s work in their children, and give their kids time and care as they grow.

Bethany’s story offers encouragement for parents who feel discouraged, overwhelmed, or uncertain, reminding them that God’s plan for their children is unique.

  • 401. Seeing Our Kids Through God’s Process, Not Ours
    Sep 17 2025

Welcome back to the Kitchen Table. For the next few episodes, we’re exploring what it looks like to see our children through God’s eyes and let that shape our motherhood.

It’s easy to get caught up in “product thinking,” focusing on milestones, outcomes, or trying to fix every struggle. But our children are not projects—they are God’s handiwork, growing and changing in his timing. Even the hardest kids are fully known, fully loved, and fully committed to by Him, and we get to partner with Him rather than carry the weight alone.

Shifting to process thinking over product thinking softens the pressure, frees us from unnecessary guilt, and helps us trust God’s work in their hearts. As we lean into His truths and commit to praying for our children each day, we can parent with a kingdom perspective that brings peace and brings glory to God.
