  • Extracting Soma from Saturn & Neptune’s Transit through Uttara Bhadrapada Nakshatra
    Jul 15 2025

Text me your thoughts about this epidode ...

In this episode, I explore Saturn and Neptune as they journey through Uttara Bhadrapada Nakshatra. Have you been feeling squeezed in 2025? That cosmic pressure isn’t just life—it might be the rare Saturn–Neptune conjunction coupled with Saturn retrograde in Pisces, activating karmic lessons and reshaping our collective ideals through this penultimate Vedic Lunar Mansion.
I unpack a specific Nakshatra meaning in Vedic Astrology by delving into the mythic symbolism of the Ahirbudhnya serpent and connecting that to the “Oil Mill Lord” metaphor from "The Greatness of Saturn". You’ll discover how planetary transits like — Neptune in Pisces, Saturn Transit of 2025 (including Saturn retrograde), and their Nakshatra transit — press out the essence of your life experiences similar to a powerful Soma extraction ritual. Whether you follow Tropical or Sidereal Vedic Astrology, you’ll gain fresh insights into this Vedic Nakshatra, Pisces Rasi, retrograde interpretation, and Neptune’s visionary influence.
Along the way, I share my experience and discuss practical astrology tools like yin-yoga spinal twists to embody the cosmic squeeze, and ask journaling prompts to help you extract your personal Soma. Tune in now to align with these planetary transits, transform celestial tension into sacred essence, and deepen your astrology practice.

  • Who Am I? The role of Jupiter, Mercury, Tara & the Moon in identity, love, self acceptance and A Restless Traveller
    Jun 8 2025

Text me your thoughts about this epidode ...

In today's episode I have the pleasure of recording a podcast episode with my husband!! Together we explore the different approaches of Jupiter and Mercury in a birth chart. We talk about "A Restless Traveller," Zé's memoir focused on a four-month trip to Europe he took in 1977 at age 23. I have the chance to share the Vedic Mythology how Mercury was conceived (picking up from where Nisha Sankaran and I left off in S2 Ep 11, 12 & 14). The mythology of Tara, Jupiter and the Moon become a touchstone that we returned to throughout the interview. We also discuss the influence of José's Gemini rising sign and the Parivartana Yoga of mutual exchange between Mercury and Jupiter in his birth chart on themes of restlessness, travel, identity, and the search for connection. We explore how his travels and his relationship with his family and romantic encounters, resonated with Vedic Astrologic Houses of self (1st), home (4th), parents (4th & 10th), and the quest for love (7th). We also talk about the process of writing and how revisiting his past led to deeper self-acceptance. I hope you will enjoy learning more about Jupiter and Mercury through this personal episode :)

This is the episode I've eagerly awaited since my very first episode, 'What is Vedic Astrology?' When I started The Vedic Astrology Podcast four years ago, I knew I needed to address this fundamental question, but I also realized that doing so effectively would require more than my own understanding. Today, I am thrilled to present this long-anticipated episode. I am joined by Sachin Sharma to delve deeply into the essence of Jyotish, often translated as Vedic Astrology. Sachin and I explore the unique philosophy of Jyotish, grounding our discussion in Sutra 3:14 from the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra. This episode addresses key differences between Jyotish and other forms of astrology, the richness and symbolism embedded in Jyotish, and the effects of colonization on its interpretation. Sachin shares profound insights into the deeper purpose of Jyotish, including its relation to the concept of Atman and its applicability to personal growth, spirituality, and practical life areas such as relationships, career, and health. Additionally, we discuss the integration of Jyotish with other related disciplines like yoga, Ayurveda, and Samkhya, highlighting that these fields form a cohesive study of life's profound truths. Learn the true potential and gift Jyotish offers, and discover how this ancient practice can serve as a psychoanalytic and therapeutic tool. Sachin's ongoing Jyotish Project aims to re-educate and bring greater clarity to this rich and intricate discipline, making it accessible for both personal and professional practices. Join us in this enlightening conversation and find out how you can engage with Sachin's work and further explore the transformative power of Jyotish. Don't miss out!
