The real tragedy is that racism is so intertwined and woven into the fabric of Atlanta at that time. This poor community couldn’t accept the outcome after the FBI used behavioral science to create the killers profile and Wayne Williams fit it EXACTLY. He got caught red handed on the bridge and the body showed up 2 days later downstream. The fabrics from his, carpet, bed, jacket and car were on 5 of the child victims. All the evidence lead to Wayne Williams. The unpopular truth in the community as the narrative was that it was done by the Klan.
Did he kill all of the victims? No
The two young girls were presumed killed by family members.
One of the youngsters was a runaway.
A few of the others didn’t fit his M.O.
But in the end they caught the right guy and the killings with the m.o. they were looking for…ended.
