The religious people want a sign (i.e. it implies they have little faith and don't trust God and don't recognize Jesus' authority - or don't want to). Yeast of the Pharisees: represents their bloated ego, pride and narcissism. Jesus teaches the abstract from the concrete.

Jesus Teaches about Inner Purity

Nature teaches us about God's pristine order and character. Nature makes us eager to follow God's law. The New Covenant naturally fulfills and flows into God's laws, the Old Covenant.

Jesus rejected at Nazareth. We may be rejected by the world, family, friends, kids, ex-spouses - but we will never be rejected by King Jesus. And because of that, we will NEVER be rejected by God our Father, the Creator of all Things!
