Before you watch the Movie, you need to listen to this! This breaks it all down & covers the questions you may have. Read the articles on Pam Hupp that Detectives and Russ give in interviews regarding the Movie. Dateline has long been a show based on outstanding research, backed with integrity & respect as well as diligently reporting a story with facts and proof to backup their investigation. They are as good at what they do as any seasoned & professional Detective would put out in a case & they work together to present an accurate timeline & everything that’s needed so that in the end, all that is presented is the undeniable truth with compassion for any victims & families. I’ll end up watching the show after I’ve finished reading the case & listening to interviews from 2011 on up. But I noted that commercials for the mini-series were strange because they were laughing & acting like The Truth about Pam was more like a party with Pamela Anderson than with Pam Hupp. I thought it odd that there was joking & jubilation surrounding the movie rather than fear & dismay over what this woman did to destroy 3 (& more including victims) People’s lives. “Despicable” was the name used to describe Renee Zellwiger’s portrayal as it was not considered serious. It was deemed a joke, & that Russ got a bad deal out of it as well. Dateline said 48 hrs of interviewing Russ, but a Detective claimed 24? Russ never wavered from his account but Pam Hupp becomes a star witness against him in court? I want the story to be considered accurate & as tragic as it really was. The only ones who can really do that are Russ, the detectives $ Dateline. All the rest is just, well…Hollywood….
Take it for what it’s worth. Not as good as “Pam & Tommy”, but not worthy of a Dateline review! More like a cheesy 6 - part miniseries aimed at ratings. Oh, & I think Renee looks very much like herself. I’d recognize her anywhere. - Suzi Pethtal
