  • 12. Asara B'Tevet: Trust the Search
    Oct 15 2025

A short shiur on Asara B’Tevet focused on Reb Nosson’s teaching: the search itself has value. Rav Shlomo sings “בברסלב בוער אש – הבער אותה בליבי” (Reb Nosson’s post-Shabbos Breslov tefillah) and explains why, after learning, we must daven over what we learned. From Likutey Halachos (Hil. Aveidah #5): even if you haven’t “found” what you’re seeking in avodas Hashem, every bit of seeking, longing, and effort counts and effects change—often unseen—so you need emunah to believe you’ve already gained.

    What’s covered:

    • Reb Nosson’s “Breslov burns a fire—burn it in my heart” as a model of praying what you learn.
    • Core yesod: “Ha-chipus atzmo hu metzi’ah” – the act of searching is itself a finding.
    • Why inner gains often can’t be seen, so they require emunah (e.g., “I’m not there yet”).
    • Concrete applications: setting small kabbalos, hitbodedus, showing up to minyan, keeping heart-sense during crisis.
    • Asara B’Tevet lens: we’ve “lost” things (taste, tenderness, presence) — keep searching and trust the increments.

  • 11. Reb Nosson and the Narrow Bridge of Truth
    Oct 15 2025

Recorded live in Tekoa on the 178th yahrzeit of Reb Nosson of Breslov.

Rav Shlomo Katz reflects on Reb Nosson’s lifelong courage to walk the narrow bridge of Emes — truth. Drawing from Reb Nosson’s writings and tefillos, the shiur explores what it means to live with honesty before Hashem, to pray from within confusion, and to keep moving even when we feel small or uncertain.

Through stories of Reb Nosson’s break from his earlier path, his devotion to Rebbe Nachman, and his teaching that the bridge of life itself is called Emes, Rav Shlomo shows how hitbodedus, emunah, and Azamra become tools for staying real and connected in a complicated world.

The evening closes with niggunim and heartfelt tefillah inspired by Reb Nosson’s own words:

“To be brave enough to walk the bridge of truth, even when it shakes.”

  • 10. Reb Nosson's Printing Dreams | Vayechi
    Oct 15 2025

Reb Nosson of Breslov was the one who made sure that you and I know about Rebbe Nachman and his Torah. It was through the power of the printing press that Reb Nosson was able to make sure we knew this. On the occasion of his 176th yahrtzeit, Rav Shlomo Katz and the chevra of Shirat David learned a teaching of his on the parsha, Parshat Vayechi, explaining the role that the printing press has in regards to the coming of Mashiach, and our generation.

  • 9. Reb Nosson on Noach: How Well Do You Know Yourself?
    Oct 15 2025

At the banks of the Bug River in Breslov, Rav Shlomo Katz learns a Likutei Halachos of Reb Nosson on Parshas Noach — a teaching that asks one piercing question:

If you’re still getting to know yourself, who are you judging when you judge yourself?

Standing beside Reb Nosson’s resting place, Rav Shlomo explores the depth of “אל תדין את חברך עד שתגיע למקומו” — not only about others, but about oneself.

We don’t yet know our makom, our full place or story — across lifetimes, struggles, and moments of light — so how can we condemn the unfinished soul we’re still discovering?

A moving Breslov journey through self-compassion, divine patience, and the lifelong work of Azamra — finding the good even within ourselves.

  • 8. Rebbe Nachman, Reb Nosson, Tzaddikim & Uman
    Oct 15 2025

Rav Shlomo Katz traces the spiritual roots of Breslov Chassidus from the Baal Shem Tov through Rebbe Nachman and his devoted disciple, Reb Nosson, and explores how their legacy continues to ignite hearts today.

Recorded as preparation for a journey to Uman, this shiur opens the world of Breslov: Rebbe Nachman’s lineage, his brief but world-shifting life, his arrival in Eretz Yisrael, and his bond with Reb Nosson — the pen through which all of his Torah was preserved.

We learn what it means to “believe in Hashem and in Moshe His servant,” the role of the tzaddik emes in every generation, and the depth behind Rebbe Nachman’s words: “My Rosh Hashanah is greater than everything.”

Through history, questions, and heartfelt reflection, Rav Shlomo invites us to approach Breslov not as followers of a movement, but as seekers of Hashem - through the light of those who built bridges between heaven and earth.

  • 7. Running To vs. Running From
    Oct 15 2025

An evening of music and Torah in honor of Reb Nosson of Breslov’s yahrzeit.

Rav Shlomo Katz shares the life story of the one who never stopped climbing — how Reb Nosson transformed despair into devotion, confusion into prayer, and running from into running to.

Through song and story, from his dream of the ladder to his meeting with Rebbe Nachman, from the cry “בברסלב בוער אש, הבער אותה בליבי” to his lifelong avodah of perseverance, we learn how to return to Hashem even when we feel furthest away.

A heartfelt journey through mesirus nefesh, tefillah, and the fire that still burns in Breslov.

  • 6. In Breslov Burns a Fire, Burn It In My Heart
    Oct 15 2025

On Asara b’Tevet, Rav Shlomo Katz teaches a short תפילה from Reb Nosson of Breslov’s Likutei Tefillos, framed by the nigun “בברסלב בוער אש — הבער אותה בליבי.”

We explore Reb Nosson’s practice of turning Torah into prayer, asking Hashem for a matnas chinam to reach and keep rising in קדושת ארץ ישראל.

Brief reflections on the day’s depth (Reb Nosson’s yahrzeit and the Chasam Sofer’s note on geulah) round out this redemptive, heart-opening shiur.
