Steven King meets Sir Terry Pratchett. Mr McDonnell blends supernatural elements with humor in these short stories, and then has his friends and acquaintances among the professional comedians of Great Britain read them. The performances have been above the average level of all but the most well produced audiobooks.

Also, each episode opens with a couple of brief “news” stories from the imaginary pages of “The Stranger Times” newspaper. Which paper supposedly covers supernatural events occurring in England and the world.

The One is incredibly funny and totally believable. The characters become fully formed somehow which is difficult in a short story format. They aren’t even really described, but the dialogue so naturally informs the reader of the humor and disposition of these two people that I would very much like to be their friends. Invite them over for bbq next Saturday.

First things first the author has his own voice. but he also pays homage to Terry Pratchett. thank you for your wonderful and prolific words.

These stories are fantastic and extremely funny. The casts are a little long, but I can't wait to get back to them.

There must be something wrong with my Audible feed, because it took them WAY too long to bring this up. I always await Caimh's work with great eagerness, and this podcast has been a brilliant way to get through the humorless desert between his books. I typically do not choose to meet my authorial heroes, but I'd make an exception for Caimh, as I would have for Pratchett. Alas, I probably never will, as we're divided by an ocean (and a language) but he's the best reason I've encountered for visiting Manchester. These podcasts give us a chance to visit Caimh virtually, so I enjoy them enormously and recommend them - as well as all of his books - heartily.

Of all of the shorts in this line, this is undoubtedly my favorite. I adore all of these stories. I've played this for all of my friends. So now, we're all addicted to his writing! lol
