The Spiritually Curious Therapist podcast is an exploration of the intersection between spirituality and healing in the context of psychotherapy and other healing arts practices. Hosted by Jodi Silverman, Psychotherapist, Reiki Practitioner and Consciousness Guide. Jodi is wildly curious about the human journey towards wholeness and seeks to understand all the ways in which human beings learn, heal and grow. Each episode will dive into conversations with fellow therapists, spiritual teachers and thought leaders with a few solo episodes interspersed with the goal of exploring how the therapist's spiritual practice impacts their identity as a healer.

  • Power Stories & the Medicine of Myth: Finding Soul Safety Through Storytelling with April Isaacs
    Nov 10 2025

In this deeply poetic conversation, I sit down with writer, photographer, and intuitive storyteller April Isaacs, creator of Power Story Tarot Readings and author of The Ecstatic Wanderer. From years spent living nomadically in her van “Firefly” to discovering myth as a mirror for the soul, April shares how story, tarot, and wilderness have become her way of helping others reclaim their personal power.

    Together, Jodi and April explore:T

    • The difference between being “read to” and being witnessed and why the latter transforms.
    • The origin of Power Story Readings and how mythic archetypes can awaken inner guidance.
    • Why seeking curiosity instead of certainty can regulate the nervous system and create safety for the soul to remember.
    • How storytelling in community (like Way of Council circles) restores collective regulation and belonging.
    • Practices for tuning in to your body’s stories through myth, dreams, and ritual.

April reminds us that story is medicine, and being witnessed is sacred. Whether through tarot, myth, or dream, each of us holds a story that wants to be remembered, one that can lead us home to ourselves.

  • Presence Over Perfection: Remembering the Healer Within
    Oct 27 2025

What happens when the healer becomes the one who needs healing?

In this moving and illuminating conversation, I sit down with Amy Marohn, a spiritual hypnotherapist, channel, and former rehabilitation professional whose own “mystery illness” and near-death experience became the catalyst for her soul’s unfolding.

Amy shares how years of chronic illness, medical dismissal, and despair led her to a life-changing moment of surrender and how that surrender opened the door to spiritual guidance, intuitive awakening, and a completely new way of understanding healing.

    Together we explore:

    • The sacred turning points that awaken healers to their deeper purpose
    • How chronic illness and loss of control can become spiritual initiations
    • Why the most powerful medicine we offer clients is our authentic presence
    • How to release the chase for “more certifications” and trust your own inner guidance
    • Practices to attune your frequency, clear your channel, and remember the healer within

This episode is a heartfelt invitation for therapists, healers, and helpers to slow down, listen inwardly, and rediscover the quiet frequency of authenticity that allows true healing to unfold, both for ourselves and for those we serve.

  • Healing the Primal Wound: Intuition, Energy, and Self-Care with Tammy Waldron
    Sep 15 2025

In this inspiring conversation, I sit down with Tammy Waldron, founder of Towanda Wellbeing and the RISE Intuitive Healing Arts Center. Tammy shares her powerful story of being adopted at five days old, the lifelong impact of her primal wound, and how energy healing opened the doorway to deep transformation as it touched places that traditional talk therapy could not.

    Together, we explore:

    • The hidden wounds of adoption and intergenerational trauma.
    • Why traditional “mindset work” can’t fully resolve survival responses.
    • The transformative potential of Theta Healing, Silent Counseling, and other spirit-led practices.
    • How therapists and healers can prevent burnout by learning to regulate their own systems.
    • The role of intuition as a precision clinical tool for therapists and practitioners.
    • The power of presence, playfulness, and holding life’s challenges lightly.

Tammy also previews her upcoming presentation at the 2025 IFS Institute Conference on integrating Theta Healing with IFS, and she offers listeners a free gift to begin practicing nervous system regulation today.
