  • Club championship round one review
    Jul 30 2025

ON THIS week's podcast, we wrap up the first weekend of the McCarthy Insuarnce Group Cork football championship.

In the premier SFC, Clonakilty and Carbery Rangers started with defeats but there were wins for Castlehaven and Newcestown to start their campaigns with a bang.

In senior A, O’Donovan Rossa could only manage a draw while Dohenys were narrowly defeated by Bishopstown.

Elsewhere, there were wins for Castletownbere, Ilen Rovers, Adrigole and Gabriel Rangers.

Back to inter-county and the Cork camogie team are through to a fifth All-Ireland final in-a-row after seeing off Waterford 1-21 to 1-11.

It is going to be a Cork v Galway decider for the second year running.

The minor LGFA team won an All-Ireland this week after defeating Dublin with some key West Cork involvements.

We’ll also chat (briefly) about the editors’ home county as Kerry won their 39th All-Ireland title.

  • Saoirse McCarthy on Cork’s All-Ireland camogie semi-final against Waterford
    Jul 23 2025

ON THIS week's podcast, we talk to Saoirse McCarthy before Cork’s Glen Dimplex All-Ireland senior camogie semi-final against Waterford.

The Courcey Rovers player and her teammates are aiming to win their fifth All-Ireland semi-final in-a-row this weekend in UPMC Nowlan Park, Kilkenny.

Cork are also going for their first All-Ireland three-in-a-row since 1973, there are two hurdles left to jump.

One team who won’t be going up the Hogan Stand steps are the Cork hurlers after their demoralising 3-27 to 1-18 defeat against

Tipperary in the All-Ireland SHC final.

A second-half showing that only yielded 0-2 was ultimately Pat Ryan’s side’s downfall as Tipp got their hands on Liam MacCarthy.

We will break down, as much as we can, in the show.

We look ahead to the start of the McCarthy Insurance Group Cork football championships too with plenty of West Cork interest.

  • Cork v Tipperary preview with Diarmuid ‘The Rock’ O’Sullivan
    Jul 16 2025

ON THIS week's podcast, we look ahead to this Sunday’s All-Ireland SHC final between Cork and Tipperary in Croke Park (3.30pm).

Joining us this week is Cork hurling legend Diarmuid ‘The Rock’ O’Sullivan to discuss the key talking points ahead of the big match.

O’Sullivan was full-back when Cork last won the Liam MacCarthy cup in 2005, the current crop are hoping to end a 20-year drought.

The county has been painted red this week as the build up for the final increases with flags all around, including in West Cork.

Cork did beat Tipperary 4-27 to 0-24 earlier in this year’s championship but most people are still expecting a tight game between two Munster powerhouses.

eir hurling ambassador Kingston was on hand as eir announced a major milestone in its network transformation - Ireland’s No.1 5G Network Availability award for the fifth year in a row.
