When Jen saw changes in her daughter's behaviour she had no idea what was behind it. She had prioritised internet safety at home. This is an important message, and a stark warning for all parents.

Jocelyn's abuse was only made worse by family members who refused to acknowledge what she had suffered, and expected her to remain quiet.

Her haunting story reminds us why teaching children the correct names for their private body parts is so vitally important.

Jocelyn knows the value of having a safe space to share her truth. She does that here with all of us.

  • Keeping the family secret was more important than my safety
    Mar 26 2025

Deborah's intrafamilial abuse started when she was around 4 years of age. She spoke out to a parent, but this was never followed up, and the abuse continued into her teens.

The realisation that she could cut the people who had hurt her out of her life was a large part of starting to move forward. She has now written a book to share her story, and to encourage others to share theirs.

What's your story? Are you ready to share it?
