They also discuss some of the general reasons why complex disorders, especially those that are not yet well understood, can have devastating, or even life-threatening, consequences as a result of misunderstanding. Casey advocates for greater education and reform as well as empowering patients to advocate for themselves when they aren't receiving the treatment that they need.
