  • Episode 8 Silicon Valley's New Pro-Apocalyptic Religion - TESCREAL
    May 4 2025

    In this episode of the Seeking Justice podcast, host Benedict Bloggs, interviews LA-based journalist (with Drop Site News) and data analyst, Nicholas Rodelo, and biotechnologist and tech entrepreneur Keira Havens about Silicon Valley's new Pro-Apocalytic religion: the TESCREAL bundle of ideologies (Transhumanism, Extropianism, Singularitarianism, Cosmism, Rationalism Effective Altruism and Longterminism).

    The discussion explores:

    • the origins of this overlapping bundle of ideologies from eugenics and race science, to champions of TESCREAL such as Jeffrey Epstein, Elon Musk and Peter Theil;
    • their future outlook towards "creating God", colonising the universe with "trillions of digital beings" and preparing for the high risk of global annihilation caused by AGI (the clash between "Doomers" versus "Accelerationists"); and,
    • how they have infiltrated Silicon Valley's reckless race towards Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and is Hollywood next.

    The discussion also explores important philosophical questions regarding the human experience and human existence on Planet Earth including critique the anthropocentric/androcentric views prevalent in these ideologies and discuss the dangers of long-termism and the cult-like mentality fostered by Effective Altruism. In this conversation, the speakers delve into the themes of domination, control, and the implications of artificial intelligence on society. They discuss the nature of power dynamics, the struggle for individuality, and the misconceptions surrounding intelligence and IQ.

    The conversation also touches on the importance of cooperation, the entitlement present in modern politics, and the limitations of human intelligence. The debate between doomers and accelerationist perspectives on AI development is explored, alongside the consequences of these technologies on human experience and societal structures.

    Ultimately, the speakers reflect on grief, memory, and the human condition, questioning the fixation on technological advancement at the expense of genuine human connection and understanding.
