  • The Making of an Ironman: Ketch Kelton and His Mama, Tammy
    Mar 13 2025

The roping world knew Ketch Kelton was an animal, but walking into the Lazy E and winning the Cinch Timed Event Championship in his rookie appearance at just 19 made some jaws really drop—except, perhaps, anyone who knew Kelton and how absolutely cowboy this guy really is.

In the last year, Kelton has won the JR Patriot, the NTR Finals, the High School Finals Rodeo, the South Point Super Qualifier and placed at the Bob Feist Invitational, and he won the Cinch Timed Event Championship with ease. But for all Kelton's talents, telling us long stories in interviews really still isn't his jam. Luckily, we had Casey Allen chatting with his mom, too, so this interview is both Ketch and Tammy Kelton, talking about what this win means to the whole family.

  • Jr. Ironman, Patriot Fort Worth and San Antonio on The Short Score
    Mar 5 2025

Jr. Ironman rookie James Mann took home the 2025 title for $20,000 after finishing the 12-head battle in 138.4 seconds March 1 inside the famous Lazy E Arena. Mann, a 19-year-old from California, also won the first round, second in Round 2 and third in Round 3 in pursuit of this year's Jr. Ironman title.

The Patriot is gracing Fort Worth once again March 9-16. The Patriot team roping gets underway Sunday, March 9, with the #9.5 All Ages Truck Roping.

Dustin Egusquiza and Levi Lord took home the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo win, cashing in $23,130 a man. Egusquiza and Lord were nearly flawless, winning all three rounds in their bracket for $7,878 a man and locked in the overall title Feb. 22, with a 4.1 to win the Finals and another $15,252 apiece. This marks Egusquiza’s third San Antonio title–he won his first in 2020 with Travis Graves–but Egusquiza and Lord’s second together in the last three years.

On this episode of The Short Score, we introduce Mann, the Jr. Ironman champion, talk all things Patriot Fort Worth and catch up on Egusquiza and Lord's San Antonio win.
