  • Rescuing Dogs, Not Ego: Social Media, Hate and The Real Cost On Rescuers
    Sep 5 2025

In this episode, we take a raw and honest look at the dark side of rescue work — the social media abuse, judgment, and constant criticism that rescuers face online. From the infamous “Why didn’t you save that dog?” comments to the emotional toll of dealing with keyboard warriors who contribute nothing but negativity, we explore how this noise can distract from the real mission.

We also talk about the importance of mental health in rescue, setting boundaries, and remembering that we’re only human — doing the best we can with the resources we have. Most importantly, we shine a light on the people who truly matter: the quiet supporters, the kind donors, the ones who lift us up when things feel impossible.

This episode is a reminder to focus on the good, protect your peace, and keep showing up — because what you do matters. Even if the internet doesn’t always say so.

  • A Typical Day
    Aug 7 2025

Welcome to The Rescue Dog Pod, where the stories are real, and the glamour? Yeah… that doesn’t live here.

In this episode, “A Typical Day,” come and listen as I reveal the thrilling reality of rescue work—it’s basically just paperwork, emails, and endless computer stuff. No, I’m not wrangling wild dogs in a field all day. I’m wrangling spreadsheets, vet bookings, and online forms while wearing yesterday’s hoodie and drinking cold coffee.

If you thought rescue life was patting puppies all day—well, sometimes it is—but mostly, it’s me trying to remember 47 different passwords and emailing people back before my inbox becomes a disaster zone (again). So come on in and hear just how unglamorous my work really is… and why I still love it anyway.
