Joaquin Gonzalez, along with Ed Reed, was one of the two most vocal leaders on the greatest college football team of all time. He was an All-American and set the standard for the 2001 National Champions. Mark Fletcher, Carson Beck, Malachi Toney, Keelan Marion, Marty Brown, and the rest of the Miami offense got it done when it mattered.

The Miami Defense played as a unit and was able to do enough to prevent Trinidad Chambliss and them boyz from beating them in the end.

They fought through penalties and injuries, dropped interceptions, and the flu to finally evict the demons of the Fiesta Bowl curse that the Canes have had for 40 years.

The Miami Hurricanes went to Dallas and Jerry's World and proved all of the doubters wrong, winning their second College Football Playoff game, beating Ohio State.

The Hurricanes were dominant up front on both sides of the football, and they did enough in both the run game and the passing game to get the W.

The story, though, was Corey Heatherman's defense. It was just stellar. Sure, Jeremiah Smith got his, but otherwise, OSU could not get anything else going.

The Hurricanes move on to the Fiesta Bowl to play the winner of UGA/Ole Miss.

This was the easiest show we have ever done. The Canes went into College Station, into Kyle Field, battled the 12th Man, and got the win over the mighty SEC Texas A&M Aggies. It wasn't a pretty game at times. Miami's passing offense was poor. But between Mark Fletcher Jr., Malachi Toney, and a defense that looked as good as any defense that has ever worn the Orange and Green, Miami pulled off what some may have called an upset.
