A bombshell Four Corners investigation has sent shockwaves through the endometriosis community, revealing allegations of "unnecessary and excessive" surgeries performed by a prominent Melbourne surgeon.

With claims that organs were removed from patients whose pathology showed no trace of disease, the Victorian Government has now referred the matter to the police.
