It’s a brand new season of ThunderCats Reviews and your Radical Retro Brothers are kicking off Season Four in the biggest way possible, a five part adventure, Return to Thundera!

This week, we are joined by our amazing friend Zack, back in the lair as cohost, to help us tackle the thunderous chaos of Lion-O and crew’s long awaited return to their home planet. Along the way Tygra and Pumyra get left behind on Third Earth, Mumm-Ra crawls back from his little vacation in the Phantom Zone, we meet a bizarre two headed robot, and the Sword of Omens gets melted down into… a donut. Yes, a donut!

From explosive battles to shocking reveals and plenty of Bungler worthy moments, these episodes set the stage for what might be the wildest season yet! Oh, and we are also keeping count of how many times the Regulator is mentioned throughout this mega story.

And finally, a massive thanks to Zack, not only for joining us on mic, but also for helping to edit this giant sized premiere episode. We could not have done it without you!

⚡"The Thundercats depart Third Earth for New Thundera, leaving Tygra and Pumyra behind to watch over the Cat's Lair and Tower of Omens. Meanwhile, the Ancient Spirits of Evil resurrect Mumm-ra, building a new pyramid on New Thundera."

    ⚡Original Airdates: September 4, 1989- September 8, 1989.

  • Radical Retro Rewind?! Bonus: Chat With Actor Michael Bailey Smith!
    Sep 19 2025

    Welcome Back Radical Ones!

I had the amazing opportunity to sit down and chat with Michael Bailey Smith as part of our Nightmare on Elm Street Summer! Michael famously portrayed Super Freddy in Part 5: The Dream Child!

We also dive into one of my all-time favorite shows, Charmed. Michael shares his experiences playing some of the most unforgettable villains in the series: Shax, the demon who shockingly killed Shannen Doherty’s character Prue in "All Hell Breaks Loose", Belthazor’s full demonic form, and even the Source of All Evil.

Along the way, Michael reflects on working with the cast, tells a wonderful story about Julian McMahon coming to support him at one of his stage plays during their Charmed years and more!

And of course, we couldn’t leave out superheroes! Michael stepped into Marvel history as Ben Grimm/The Thing in the cult-status, unreleased Fantastic Four film from 1994, and three decades later had a full-circle moment returning for a cameo in the brand-new 2025 movie.

From horror icons to Halliwell Manor to Marvel, this conversation is packed with nostalgia, laughs, and incredible stories you won’t want to miss!

    It’s time to get Radical!

  • Episode 171: "A Nightmare on Elm Street" (2010)
    Sep 12 2025

    Welcome Back Radical Ones! ⚡️

Our Nightmare Summer comes to a close! For this final Freddy film, Ryan is joined by our returning guest cohost and good friend Cadu, who first met Freddy through 2010’s “A Nightmare on Elm Street” remake before going back to the original movies in the franchise.

Together we revisit this darker reimagining of Springwood’s most infamous slasher breaking down what worked, what didn’t, and what it’s like to discover Elm Street from that unique entry point. With Ryan’s longtime love of the series and Cadu’s fresh but personal perspective, it’s the perfect way to wrap up a summer filled with screams, nostalgia, and plenty of laughs. This week’s episode also has a special message from Thomas Dekker himself, reflecting on working within Freddy’s world and bringing Jesse Braun to life. We are beyond grateful for his time, his talent, and his kindness in connecting with the Radical Ones! So, pour one last cup of coffee, Radical Ones…as we face Freddy one final time!

And don’t miss next week’s episode, when Ryan sits down for a special conversation with Michael Bailey Smith, who played the unforgettable Super Freddy in "A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 5: The Dream Child'!

"Teenagers Nancy, Quentin, Kris, Jesse and Dean are all neighborhood friends who begin having the same dream of a horribly disfigured man who wears a tattered sweater and a glove made of knives. The man, Freddy Krueger (Jackie Earle Haley), terrorizes them in their dreams, and the only escape is to wake up. But when one of their number dies violently, the friends realize that what happens in the dream world is real, and the only way to stay alive is to stay awake."

Starring: Jackie Earle Haley, Kyle Gallner, Rooney Mara, Katie Cassidy, Thomas Dekker, and Kellan Lutz.

  • Episode 170: Freddy's Nightmares TV Series (1988-1990)
    Sep 5 2025

    Welcome Back Radical Ones! ⚡️

The summer of Freddy continues! This week Ryan, Rob, and David fire up the dream machine for "Freddy’s Nightmares", the two season short-lived but unforgettable TV series hosted by the man of your nightmares himself.

We kick things off with Episode One: “No More Mr. Nice Guy”, where Freddy faces trial for his crimes—but is that really Robert Englund sitting behind the plexiglass in that courtroom?

Then we follow it up with its direct continuation, Episode Seven: “Sister’s Keeper”, featuring two sisters in matching ugly outfits and frizzier-than-ever hair. Can these siblings stop Freddy before he gets to them, or are they destined to be his next victims?

Join us as we revisit this cult series, question what counts as “canon” in the Nightmare universe and share plenty of laughs (and screams) along the way.

"Freddy's Nightmares is an American horror anthology TV series based on the A Nightmare on Elm Street films. It features Freddy Krueger as the host and occasional villain. Each episode tells a different story with dark or grim themes, set in the town of Springwood, Ohio, specifically on Elm Street, the same setting as the A Nightmare on Elm Street films. Although the Freddy Krueger character occasionally plays a role in the plot, most of the stories do not involve him directly. However, it is often hinted that Krueger indirectly influenced the desolate nature of the plotlines."

Stars: Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger.

  • Episode 169: Wes Craven's New Nightmare (1994)
    Aug 29 2025

    Welcome Back Radical Ones! ⚡️

Did you really think Freddy was dead for good? This week, Ryan and Rob crack open "Wes Craven’s New Nightmare" (1994) the meta masterpiece that brought Freddy back darker, meaner, and more terrifying than ever. From Heather Langenkamp playing herself to Freddy’s demonic redesign and Dylan’s unforgettable screams, we’re digging into the film that redefined Elm Street.

And just like last week, we kick things off with "Sweet Revenge" the new "Friday the 13th" short that brought Jason Voorhees back with the most unlikely sponsor: Angry Orchard. Rob finally shares his take on this apple-fueled return to Crystal Lake.

But that’s not all… we also fast-forward nearly 30 years to "Dylan’s New Nightmare" from 2023, the fan film starring Miko Hughes returning as Dylan Porter in a whole new Freddy tale! How does it stack up against Wes’s vision? We’ve got thoughts.

Grab those script pages and don’t fall asleep… Freddy’s back, and so are we!

"Reality and fantasy meet in unsettling ways in this installment of the long-running horror series, which finds director Wes Craven and actors Heather Langenkamp and Robert Englund all portraying themselves. As Heather (Heather Langenkamp) considers making another film with Craven, her son, Dylan (Miko Hughes), falls under the spell of the iconic disfigured villain Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund). Eventually, Langenkamp must confront Freddy's demonic spirit to save the soul of Dylan."

Stars: Robert Englund, Heather Langenkamp, Miko Hughes, Tracy Middendorf, Matt Winston.

  • Episode 168: "Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare" (1991) 👧🏻☠️🪦
    Aug 22 2025

    Welcome Back Radical Ones! ⚡️

This week on the show the end is here… or is it? Ryan and David chat "Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare" from 1991. But before diving into Springwood’s collapse and Freddy’s long-lost daughter, we kick things off by discussing the newly released Jason Universe short film “Sweet Revenge,” made in partnership with Angry Orchard. It’s the first official entry in the Jason franchise in 16 years. Can this cider-soaked mini movie capture the gory glory of the ’80s and ’90s slashers? And how does it connect back to Freddy’s world of dream-fueled chaos?

They even said they saved the best for last (spoiler… they didn’t! Ryan holds nothing back, calling the cast completely unlikable and the acting some of the weakest in the franchise. But here’s the real question: is Freddy’s Dead actually better than the movie Ryan loves to compare it to "Jason Goes to Hell?"

We also explore the theory that this isn’t the true ending to the Elm Street films at all, but instead the finale to Freddy’s Nightmares, the short-lived TV series.

So, grab your 3D glasses (or not), because it’s time to get radical and revisit the final nightmare… whether we like it or not.

"Murderous ghoul Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) has slaughtered every last child in his hometown. He ventures on to a new location, scouting fresh young victims to hack up with his finger blades. He arrives in a small town in which his long-lost daughter, Maggie (Lisa Zane), works as a therapist for troubled youths. He attempts to recruit her for his dastardly pursuits, but she has other ideas. Father and daughter meet for a bloody showdown that will determine Freddy's fate once and for all."

Stars: Robert Englund, Shon Greenblatt, Lisa Zane, Ricky Dean Logan, Breckin Meyer, Yaphet Kotto & Lezlie Deane.

  • Episode 167: "A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child" (1989) 👶🏼💤🩸
    Aug 15 2025

    Welcome Back Radical Ones! ⚡️

This week on the show Ryan, Rob, and David are back with Alice in Freddys dream world! It's "A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child" from 1989! It's the darker, gothic entry where Alice returns, Freddy finds a whole new way to terrorize through baby Jacob, and one dinner party goes very wrong for poor Greta.

We ask the big questions: Did Yvonne basically do all the work in the final act? Was Alice “cut at the knees” compared to her Dream Master glory? And will poor Amanda Krueger really have to clutch her stomach like she’s got Freddy-induced IBS for the rest of eternity?

Plus before we go, Rob brings the laughs with a Nightmare on Elm Street-inspired word association game! Grab your pacifier because this lullaby turns into a scream... it’s time to get radical with The Dream Child!

"The fifth installment of the popular franchise focuses on Alice (Lisa Wilcox), a survivor of the fourth, who believes Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) has been eliminated for good. She optimistically hopes to start a life with fellow survivor Dan (Danny Hassel). The nightmares begin soon enough, though, and Alice learns she is pregnant. When her friends start dying, Alice suspects that Freddy is using the fetus within her as a weapon. Can she fight the demon while protecting her unborn child?"

Stars: Robert Englund, Lisa Wilcox, Danny Hassel & Kelly Jo Minter.
