The Pitty Pod was created to advocate for commonly discriminated against breeds, especially dogs known as pitbulls. There are deep societal problems based on misconceptions and we hope to become a part of breaking the myths that have caused a plague of fear. These mythological roots cause an abundance of pitbulls to remain in shelters, not only out of fear but because it is nearly impossible to find a home that accepts this breed. We need to speak up for these innocent animals and work together to make a difference! We need better advocacy and we believe we can do so by seeking to understand the fear, learning about the systemic roots, and working together. Thank you for joining The Pitty Pod!

    Welcome to The Pitty Pod! I am so happy you are here. My name is Cayt and I will be the host here. In our first episode, I share my personal history and experience with pit bulls. I am not a lifelong lover of the breed and can relate to those that still may find themselves fighting a fear. I had very little exposure and interaction until my early 20's, but my life and views quickly changed upon getting to know their loyal and companion-like love. Through The Pitty Pod I hope to join alongside other advocacy groups and work to end these stigmatizations. There is a lot of work ahead, but I am hopeful to be a part of the mission. I would love to hear your story! Did you grow up loving the breed or fall in love later in life? The Pitbull Advocates of America and My Pitbull is Family are two organizations that have fantastic information and do great work towards this mission.
