Welcome to Day 46 of the Pentecast on LOVECHURCH — The Podcast. Today, Tim is joined by Ella Jenkinson from the Spear Programme, as they dive into the first letter of John — particularly chapters 1 to 3 — and reflect on what it means to truly walk in the light.
John writes with striking clarity: “This is the message you heard from the beginning: we should love one another.” But more than that, he says, “Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.” The challenge? None of us walk like Jesus on our own. But Ella and Tim explore how confession, humility, and grace are the keys to living in his light.
In a culture that often champions self-love, there’s power in acknowledging our brokenness — not to shame ourselves, but to receive freedom. Confession, done safely and honestly, can be the very thing that lifts shame and opens the door to restoration.
Today’s encouragement: we don’t need to pretend. We can come as we are. Because when we confess, “God is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
Let go of the weight. Step into the light. See you tomorrow for Day 47.
