Welcome to Day 45 of the Pentecast on LOVECHURCH — The Podcast. Today, Tim is joined once again by Festus Adedoyin as they explore the powerful themes found in the letter of 1 Peter.
Peter writes to scattered believers, reminding them that through Jesus’ resurrection, we’ve been given “new birth into a living hope” — and more than that, “an inheritance that can never perish, spoil, or fade.” Festus reflects on the beauty of this gift: an inheritance we didn’t earn and could never deserve, freely given by a loving Father — if only we’d stop resisting and simply receive it.
But with this grace comes a call: “Be holy, because I am holy.” Holiness isn’t about perfection or striving — it’s about allowing the Holy Spirit to shape us into who we were created to be. As Festus puts it, God wouldn’t ask us to be holy if it weren’t possible through his Spirit.
Today’s episode is a timely reminder that the Christian life is both a gift to receive and a journey of transformation — not restrictive, but freeing.
Receive the inheritance. Walk in holiness. We’re nearly there.
See you tomorrow for Day 46.
