  • The Night of Rants, Scandals, and Kuzmenko
    Apr 25 2025

Area 51 Sports Network proudly presents another episode of PP1 Podcast.

This week, Ryan and Ted go rant heavy on the Canucks, their sloppy dealings in PR, player management, and direction.

We talk about taking things one issue at a time and how the Canucks somehow managed to waste away a season with so many great things to look forward to.

Ryan talks about how Andrei Kuzmenko needs to be a yearly one season contract sniper for every NHL team. The logic is there.

We also chat about our time at the Bush concert in Kelowna.

This show is very rant heavy this week.

    Enjoy!

  • Canucks Survivor Series and Potato Chips feat. Ryan Schaap
    Apr 4 2025

In concert with Area 51 Sports Network, the PP1 Podcast is back for another solid episode.

This week, the guys are joined by Pucks On Net host Ryan Schaap. We get into potato chip setups and how to buy chips for maximum flavour satisfaction.

We chat about the angry Questrade customer in West Kelowna, urinal etiquette and obviously, the Canucks nose dive season.

We cover what we thought we might get this season, what happened, and maybe why we shouldn't have been so surprised.

Ryan and Ted (the normal PP1) chat about Ovechkin approaching Gretzky's goal record and how great it is to see him still dominant so many years later.

Finally, we debut the name Canucks GPT of the segment we've been doing for a few shows now.

This week: a Survivor Series elimination match between historic Canucks players in their prime. IT DOES NOT DISAPPOINT!!!

  • The Return of Pettersson and Alt Rock Conor Garland
    Mar 13 2025

Area 51 Sports Network presents the PP1 Podcast!

On again, off again Canucks find a way to stay playoff relevant again this week.

Brock Boeser apparently could have been moved for a first round pick, Elias Pettersson is returning to form and the Calgary Flames make us mad.

Vancouver played in Calgary this week and it was bad blood all over the place: scrums, penalties, coaches yelling, and playoff intensity.

We chat about how much we hate the Flames and Oilers and why they hate us too!

Can you have the best goalie and still lose? Ryan and Ted discuss the funny position and in lieu of no top 5, the guys goto ChatGPT and draft the best 90s/2000s alt rock band with Canucks players. Epic stuff!

  • Canucks Re-Tool The Core, Crosby A Capital, and Boosted Wifi
    Mar 7 2025

PP1 Podcast and Area 51 Sports Network combine forces once again for a banger of a show.

Friend of the show, Grant, drops by to talk some Canucks with us.

Carson Soucy is traded to the New York Rangers, Brock Boeser maybe on his way out and a possible Elias Pettersson resurgence?

Is this the most eventful week of the season? We're about to find out.

Ryan suggests that Vancouver announces the skate jersey as the full time but Grant isn't so sure.

Ted gives us a rundown of the past 20 goalies for the Oilers and the Canucks.

It's embarrassing if you're an Oiler fan.

We revisit our curling GPT matchup and it gets EVEN ZANIER this week.

  • Canucks GPT, Curling, and Guru Garland
    Feb 28 2025

We're back on the podcast channels once again and with a new home.

Area 51 Sports Network presents The PP1 Podcast!

    This week we discuss:

Ovechkin is 12 goals away from the Gretzky record, can he hit 1k, and is there another player even remotely close to flirting with the record in his career?

Conor Garland the workhorse, the switcheroo guru, the straw stir in the drink for the Canucks this season.

The Brier is in Kelowna this week so the guys drafted their respective curling teams made of Canucks players via ChatGPT. The results were hilarious.

  • Canucks and JT Miller are just filler
    Jan 19 2025

Presented in concert with THPN and Draft Kings Pick Six: The PP1 Podcast

This week we air out some laundry on the current state of the Vancouver Canucks and how it just isn't good enough. The team we saw a season ago compared to today is drastically different and the games look forgettable.

Trade talks, infighting in the locker room between the star players, and expecting Quinn Hughes to be everything to the Canucks just aren't sustainable and we rant about what we deserve.

Ted brings up a great thinking point: If Elias Pettersson caps out at 65-70 points a season but is a perennial Selke candidate, is he a bust? Great question.

Finally, we discuss what candy bars would sponsor various Canucks and it's just the best stuff.
