The guys talked about some of the mental errors made by the team this season, and just a few as recently as this weekend. Greg mentioned the guys who have disappointed a bit in this lineup. Poni asked Greg about some of the inconsistencies in the lineup and why we don’t see guys following good games all the time. Greg pushed back at people who question if Derek Shelton and Ben Cherington care about winning. Is there a chance this season can turn around? Poni had a staggering stat regarding 6th round QBs – only one of which have a winning record since the drafting of Tom Brady, and it’s Drew Henson at 1-0. What went wrong for Howard in the Michigan game? What will the career look like for Will Howard? What would be a good/bad one? One caller said Howard will be better than Ben Roethlisberger. Former Ohio State LB Bobby Carpenter joined the show. The guys started by telling Cam Heyward Happy Birthday, who Bobby almost crossed paths with at Ohio State. Bobby talked about the importance of a guy winning over the locker room. Poni wanted to ask a few questions about Jack Sawyer. Bobby said Sawyer is a jack-of-all-trades type player on defense. Bobby thinks the Steelers got two great value picks on the third day of the draft. Bobby told a few stories about Terrelle Pryor, who was around his time at Ohio State, after we had the recent discussion regarding all-time high school athletes.
