Day 236 of the Holy Bible One Year CHALLENGE. Jehoram becomes king, does evil, and dies a painful death. His son Ahaziah follows in wickedness and is killed. Athaliah, Ahaziah's mother, takes over but is overthrown by the priest Jehoiada, who makes Joash king. Joash starts ruling well as a child, guided by God's laws. In 1 Corinthians, Paul explains that our bodies must change to enter God's kingdom, and victory over death is assured through Jesus. He then instructs the Corinthians to set aside money each week for the church in Jerusalem, stressing that the gifts should be ready when he arrives.

Day 235 of the Holy Bible One Year CHALLENGE. Ahab dies in a fight, and Jehoshaphat goes back home. Jehoshaphat makes good changes to follow God better but is then threatened by a big group of enemies. He prays to God, who tells him what to do. Jehoshaphat and his people sing songs to God, and the enemies are beaten without them having to fight. They even find treasures left behind by the enemies. In 1 Corinthians, Paul answers questions about how the dead are raised and what they will look like. He compares our earthly bodies to seeds that grow into something beautiful. Our bodies now are like Adam's, made from dust, but they will be changed to be like Jesus's heavenly body.

Jehoshaphat, his son, becomes king and strengthens Judah's spiritual commitment. He unwisely aligns with wicked King Ahab of Israel, but is saved by God's intervention in a failed battle. Paul reminds the Corinthians of the gospel message and emphasizes Christ's resurrection, which assures the resurrection of believers. He argues that without the resurrection, faith is futile. He warns against bad company and urges them to wake up to righteous living.
