    Marty McSorley is a 2 time Stanley Cup Champion who played 17 seasons in the NHL. He is best known as Wayne Gretzky’s “protector” both with the Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings., was a key part of the infamous 1988 trade that brought Gretzky to the Los Angeles Kings. Beyond being a straight enforcer, McSorley had some notable offensive skills and assisted on Gretzky’s goal that broke Gordie Howe’s all time NHL points record in March of 1994. Marty was also on the wrong side of the most impactful “Illegal stick” calls in NHL Stanley Cup history during the 1993 Stanley Cup final against the Montreal Canadians.
