  • A new Monroe Doctrine for the 21st Century, Could Venezuela actions benefit Americans, and Venerable Monks walking for peace S5E4 01.09.2026
    Jan 9 2026

Do you have a question or comment? Want to suggest a topic for our panel or be a guest on the Nova Society? Send us a message!

Today, we will answer 3 email questions and present one feel-good story that should serve as an example for Americans.

Our First email is from Tyler from Los Angeles, California, who writes, I’m starting to hear a lot about Trump bringing back the Monroe Doctrine as the new foreign policy of the US. I know, I know, I should remember from history what this is, but can you please refresh my memory? How would a policy from the early 19th century play out in the early 21st century? Is it even possible to adopt the Monroe Doctrine in today’s geopolitical climate? I’d also like the panels take on the charges being brought against Maduro. Do these seem legitimate?

Next, we hear from John, who lives in Mount Vernon, Virginia, writes: OK, even the most Trumpy Trump supporter must see that the attack on Venezuela has no benefit for the average American citizen. We have people being kicked off healthcare coverage due to rising premiums. We have a higher unemployment rate than we’ve seen in decades. Grocery prices are outrageous. Trump vetoed a bipartisan clean-water bill for Colorado because they didn’t like his policies. (i.e., Boebert or Colorado wouldn’t take her name off the bill that demanded the release of the Epstein files). I saw a poll that said 75% of Americans believe Congress should have been consulted before this action was taken. I think I’m seeing cracks in Trump's support. Now that he has taken these legally questionable actions, what, if anything, can anyone, including Congress, do?

And finally, a story that shows there is still the potential for good.

Mike, who lives in Decatur, Georgia, writes: I know you’ll be discussing the recent events in Venezuela. I wanted to highlight a more positive story that we don’t see much in the mainstream media, but that is a major story in local news. The Buddhist Monks Walk for Peace. I’m not sure if the panel is aware, but 20 or so Venerable Monks from Texas are walking from Texas to Washington, D.C., to promote mindfulness, peace, and harmony. Communities are all coming out to welcome these monks. Police

  • What would the US in charge of Venezuela look like and what is the rest of the world saying or doing? S5E2 01.07.2025
    Jan 7 2026

Do you have a question or comment? Want to suggest a topic for our panel or be a guest on the Nova Society? Send us a message!

So today we continue our conversation about the recent events in Venezuela, and our listeners have two excellent questions.

Sandra from Dallas, Texas writes: Trump is claiming that the US is now in charge of Venezuela and that we are going to be running that country. Dr. Mark has always said that invasion is easy, occupation is the hard part. I know the Maduro regime wasn’t popular, but do you think the Venezuelan people are going to lie down and accept being a colony of the US? And although I’ve heard no details as to how the US will “run” Venezuela, is this even possible? What do you think this might look like, and what challenges and or dangers do you see for American troops managing this situation? Trump can’t run our country; how does anyone think he can run a country that is such a mess as Venezuela?

And Tammy from Syracuse, New York, writes We have heard very little from the rest of the world following the US attack on Venezuela. What do you think might be the world's reaction once the dust settles? Dr. Scott theorized that Trump is setting up conditions under which the US, China, and Russia carve up the world into spheres of influence. I’m starting to hear more along these lines in mainstream media. Yet, some outlets are saying this might send a message to Putin and Xi Jinping to behave themselves. Do you think this is a reasonable assessment? Or do you think this is something Greenland and the other territories Trump has mentioned, Colombia, Mexico, etc., should be more concerned about?

  • Venezuela, Regime Change or Oil Grab S5E1 01.05.2026
    Jan 6 2026

Do you have a question or comment? Want to suggest a topic for our panel or be a guest on the Nova Society? Send us a message!

Welcome to Season 5 of the Nova Society! Today, we hear from Nigel from Orlando, Florida, who writes: I’m sure your mailbag is getting blown up with questions about the US attacking Venezuela and the arrest of President Maduro. So, I guess the obvious question would be, what is the panel’s reaction to this development? You’ve talked about how this type of action might be about regime change, but Trump is leaving the Vice President in place, so is this really a regime change? Trump seems to be talking only about oil, nothing about these drugs, which was how this was framed as starting in the first place.

  • Trump's A+++++ Economy S4E254 12.29.2025
    Dec 29 2025

Do you have a question or comment? Want to suggest a topic for our panel or be a guest on the Nova Society? Send us a message!

Today we hear from Steven, who lives in Tidewater, Virginia, writes, Well, the 'numbers' are out and the A++++++ economy doesn’t seem to be as +++++ as Trump is touting. Unemployment is being reported as 4.8%, the highest in many years. The Federal jobs report numbers are shady, to say the least, and as Dr. Scott has pointed out, the most reliable information seems to be coming from ADP. I did see that recent poll numbers have Trump’s approval rating on the economy at Less than 35%. His overall rating is around 39% with 58% disapproval. Even Republicans are starting to think twice. Trump has lost some support and is down to 74% approval among Republicans. He really seems to be losing the support of independents. What I really want to ask is how Republicans can be so dumb as to still give him 74% approval? What is wrong with them?

  • What the death of Rob Reiner reveals about Trump S4E253 12.26.2025
    Dec 26 2025

Do you have a question or comment? Want to suggest a topic for our panel or be a guest on the Nova Society? Send us a message!

Today, we hear from Tammy, who lives in Millbrook, Washington, and asks, "I hope this gets to you soon enough to address this question." As I’m sure you know, Rob Reiner and his wife were tragically murdered, allegedly by their son. Trump put out a disgusting “truth” that is even getting backlash from the Republicans. Although this type of behavior is no surprise to me, or I would expect your panel, I was amazed that many Republicans are growing a set and actually speaking out. An interview with Trump's Chief of Staff Wiles provided further insights. She says he has an Alcoholic Personality. After one year, is the Trump fever beginning to break?

  • The Blockade of Venezuela S4E252 12.23.2025
    Dec 23 2025

Do you have a question or comment? Want to suggest a topic for our panel or be a guest on the Nova Society? Send us a message!

Today, our email is from Roberta from New Orleans, Louisiana. Trump is bragging about detaining an oil tanker from Venezuela. He has recently authorized a blockade on tankers entering and leaving Venezuela's sovereign waters. It seems to me that he is escalating his “War on Fentanyl” against the alleged drug cartels of Venezuela to include other exports and imports. So, I was wondering your take on all this. It’s evident to me that attacking small craft isn’t enough, and he is pushing us toward a real war. Where is Congress in all this? Can he keep this aggressive action up without their approval?

  • An ACLU report about ICE detention centers S4E251 12.22.2025
    Dec 22 2025

Do you have a question or comment? Want to suggest a topic for our panel or be a guest on the Nova Society? Send us a message!

Today we have a report from Michael from El Paso, Texas, writes I would like for your group to discuss this urgent matter that may save the lives of these immigrants in these detention centers. I have just begun listening to your podcasts, and I admire your perspectives and straightforwardness, which many people avoid for the sake of saving face. Your podcast makes me realize I am not alone in holding similar views on the state of our nation. Now, I have a document prepared by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and other activist organizations, which states multiple reasons why the Fort Bliss immigration camp in East Montana should be shut down and thoroughly investigated. The file describes physical, mental, and sexual abuse, as well as neglect of the immigrants ' basic needs. I pray that the situation improves and that the other people in my town become aware that these individuals would not lie about such matters, and that there are at least seven testimonies from those in custody. Perhaps you guys can come up with a topic surrounding ICE and their lack of government supervision and overall ignorance on their part.
