Thus, it is written, "'I hate divorce' says the LORD God of Israel, 'and I hate a mans covering himself with violence as well as his garment'". When marriage is a covering for the spouse, divorce is a violent removal to leave the other exposed. Divorce changes the protector to become the aggressor upon self, their spouse, and even God. There is no grace without the pouring out of judgement, and there is a price for the breaking of covenant that must be paid. In faith a husband is united to his spouse, how then, do we break faith?
